The Estonian state is temporarily reimbursing 50% of the network fee in order to mitigate the increase in electricity prices. The network fee compensation is automatically applied to the bills and no additional action is required.
- On 28 October 2021, the Government of the Republic decided that the Estonian state would compensate half of the cost of network services to mitigate the increase in electricity prices. The reimbursement of network services is reflected in the bills issued for October. The compensation does not include the renewable energy fee or electricity excise duty.
- Network fees are reimbursed to all private and business customers, and the discount is automatically applied to the customers’ bills, no additional action is required. VAT is calculated and added to the bill after the compensation has been calculated. The first bills to be reimbursed will be issued for October and sent to customers in November.
